Standard Disclaimer
National Novel Writing Month (hereby known as NaNoWriMo) officially begins on November 1st, 2005 and ends on November 30th, 2005. The following is the Author's Disclaimer for his NaNoWriMo work.
AUTHOR'S DISCLAIMER:
This novel is only a work of fiction. The characters, names, incidents, dialogue, and plot are products of the author's imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, places, or events is purely coincidental.
To be honest, this work is a work of fiction based upon actual persons, places, and events. A certain amount of fiction was needed to make this work. Those who attend the law school I attend will recognize certain characters and places. Names and places have been changed to protect the innocent or the ignorant.
The following is the Author's Artistic License Disclaimer for his NaNoWriMo work. This disclaimer explains his reasoning for the style this work covers. As he has pre-planned the style and most of the plot occurences (following the official rules of NaNoWriMo posted in the FAQ section of the official NaNoWriMo site), he includes the following Artistic License Disclaimer for his NaNoWriMo work.
AUTHOR'S ARTISTIC LICENSE DISCLAIMER:
Those who read this work may note this NaNoWriMo production is not structured like a traditional novel. At least one that logically progresses through a highly scripted plotline. I've intended this work to be akin to a series of short stories or maybe vignettes focusing on certain events that occur in the life of the main character. This explains why I only focus on one character and his interactions with other characters that inhabit his part of the world. In addition, it also explains why it appears I cut off the chapters abruptly at the end of a school day and not at the end of a traditional day or why the events in a chapter only take up an hour or so in real time.
This brings up the question of "Why not first person perspective? The use of I? Why not something more like a diary or online journal?" Well, I didn't feel like writing in the first person. I'm more of a third-person perspective fan, either omniscient or limited. It's just my personal preference. I have a blog and writing a novel in the style of a blog would have been overkill. Given that, I just hope you like what you read and you find it interesting.
Thank you for reading the preceeding disclaimers for the author's NaNoWriMo 2005 entry. Please check the website starting on November 1, 2005 for the actual story. Updates will be posted as frequently as his time schedule will allow.
